Housing and Accommodation Helpline Mount Isa

Centacare North Queensland Housing and Accommodation Help Line has been established as a 3 month response to support community members affected by job losses and/or self-isolation as a direct result of Covid-19. The phone line is our immediate response to the emerging need of our Mount Isa community and the direct, local line will be in service until 30 June 2020.

Callers are able to speak with an experienced member of our team to receive up to date information, support and referral to services within Mount Isa that will best meet their individual needs.

Community members are understandably anxious in these uncertain times and the ability to access, Mount Isa specific information and obtain the appropriate supports for their individual circumstances is invaluable. To date, Centacare NQ Homelessness team has been able to offer immediate support to community members requiring temporary accommodation, alternative employment and support to obtain food and necessities. Advocacy with landlords and Department of Housing is also assisting to improve housing outcomes.
