The Pathways Program provides services to individual schools as contracted to provide individual counselling for students, support for parents and carers, and resources and/or training for teachers, and is responsible for developing and delivering psycho-education groups for students and parents as required.
Issues commonly presented to Pathways counsellors:
- Family conflicts/separation or divorce
- Relationships issues
- Emotional and anger issues
- Relationships (family or peer)
- Behavioural issues
- Learning difficulties
- Social skills
Eligibility to access service
Referrals can be made by students, school staff or parents/caregivers.
This is a fee for service program. Schools enter into a 12-month Service Agreement for Centacare to provide school based counsellors for the agreed number of days per week.
Schools can also contact Centacare on 1300 672 273 to arrange specific services and confirm the current rate.
There is no additional cost to students, staff or parents accessing the service.
Making an Appointment
Referrals are available for students of schools that have a contractual agreement with Centacare. All you need to do is contact the relevant in-school counsellor to request a session.
