Centacare Life Skills courses aim to enhance individual quality of life for men, women and children, and strengthen family relationships.

Courses for Youth
Courses are tailored to different age groups and involve role-playing, worksheets and craft-based activities. Course can be run around:
- Becoming resilient young people
- Maintaining healthy relationships
- Communications skills and self esteem
- Dealing with feelings - anger, sadness, anxiety
- Protective behaviours
Adult Courses
- Practical personal tools including self-esteem, stress-management, anger-management, addressing domestic violence, managing family finances, and simple tricks and time management skills for the ultimate juggling act
- courses for men focused on healthy relationships, and anger management
- Interpersonal skills including forming new relationships, strengthening established relationships or maintaining healthy relationships after separation or loss
Eligibility to access service
You do not need a referral to access this program. Self referral is essential.
Professionalism
At Centacare each group facilitator has either tertiary qualifications in the social sciences field and / or relevant experience in facilitating programs in the welfare sector.
Workers are ethically bound to refer clients whose issues are outside their area of expertise or where the issues do not fit within the guidelines of our service.
Confidentiality
Intervention is confidential within the limits of legal and professional boundaries. This can be clarified with your worker if you are unsure as to what this means for you.
Fees
Annual household income under $45,000 = $5 per session
$45,000 to $70,000 = $10 per session
$70,000 and above = $15 per session
Concession card holders are not obliged to pay, however contributions towards the costs of service provision are encouraged (concession cards must be presented).
