Centacare North Queensland opens Cloncurry neighbourhood centre
CENTACARE North Queensland has opened the doors to its Neighbourhood Centre in Sheaffe Street, Cloncurry.
The first event to be held at the centre will be the Cloncurry Seniors Luncheon on Thursday, August 18.
Indigenous chef Mark Olive will be the special guest. He will also cook a luncheon for all attendees.
The official opening of the centre will be held later in the year, according to Centacare senior community worker Jo Frame.
“Watch this space,” she said.
“The idea behind Centacare North Queensland’s Cloncurry Neighbourhood Centre is to bring people together to connect, learn and contribute in their local community through social, educational, recreational and support activities, using a unique community development approach.”
A working bee was held to prepare the building on Friday, August 5.
